Since the inception of our fraternity in 1869, Sigma Nu has been an organization dedicated to the belief that hazing has no place in our modern society. 

 

Sigma Nu Fraternity defines hazing as:

"... any action taken or situation created, intentionally, whether on or off fraternity premises, to produce mental or physical discomfort, embarrassment, harassment or ridicule.

    An individual comes to a college to learn and grow, not to be degraded and ridiculed, and it is the mission of this chapter to help lead by example. Those who choose to walk down the path of Honor and seek to gain membership can expect to not endure hazing in any form.

    Our chapter takes part in the many initiatives provided by our national organization to ensure that we are carrying out the right course of action and not slipping into the trap of hazing. These include taking part in National Hazing Prevention Week, as well as completing annual leadership training that covers the dangers of hazing.
