Sigma CaNu

Sigma CaNu was started in 2015 as the result of our brothers looking for a unique way to engage their community while putting the fun in fundraising. It is a canoe competition around Lake Chadwick behind the Sanderson Center on Mississippi State’s campus. The participants loved it so much that it became the flagship event for Sigma Nu. Every year since, Sigma Nu has set up on the shore of Lake Chadwick and prepared sororities to face off in the boat gauntlet. In 2023, the fraternity bracket was created to foster greater connections with fraternities on campus and raise more money… and the stakes.

Through the hard work of the active members, as well as the generous donations of chapter alumni and various businesses from across the south, Sigma Nu has been able to raise thousands for its recipients. In recent years, Charity Bowl has benefited St. Jude Children’s Hospital and the American Cancer Society Hope Lodge®. This year, Sigma Nu is adopting Camp Kesem as the beneficiary for the event.

The mission of Camp Kesem is to create experiences and a lasting community to support children through and beyond their parents cancer. Passionate college students lead this community. Working alongside alumni and supporters, they create experiences and connections where these children can process, connect, heal, and thrive.
